Inspiration.

I've mentioned my Inspiration Folder a few times now, and I thought I'd expand on it a bit more.

It all started when Alastair Strong came into my university and to talk about his work.

Alastair Strong

He gave us a little insight and exaplantion of his Inspiration Folder, encouraging us to start our own.

I started mine immediately and have found it to be a massive help in so many ways ever since.

It's basically a folder on the desktop of my laptop where I save any photographs/artwork/graphics I love.

I name each image with the artists name, or any information I have. I also divide the images up in year folders, which is a great way to detect trends. Organisation is your friend.

So whenever I need some inspiration, to find a image to reference or to collect images for my next blog post, I head to my Inspiration Folder.

If you haven't already got one, start one right now.

And save anything and everything! Even if you're not sure about it. Your tastes may change and that image you once hated, you may end up loving.

As you know, I have an RSS Reader which is where I save most of the images from. I encourage you to get one of these too. So useful!

Hope my advice helps. There's nothing worse than being stuck for inspirarion.

Changing.

Notice anything different about me?

I hope you have. I changed blog platforms.

Goodbye Wordpress. Hello Blogger.

Wordpress is an excellent platform, as long as you know how to use. Which I do not...

So after much umming and erring, I bit the bullet and changed.

I'm loving it so far. I actually understand Blogger!

Blogger feels so much more friendly and personal.

I hope you like it too. :)

Return.

I know I haven't been around for a while. Everyone knows how busy Christmas time can be.

But I'm back now! :)

I don't really have any New Years resolutions. However I am trying to get more organised.

One thing I've done today is download an RSS Reader, which has proved very helpful.

There are many out there. I went with Feed Demon because I like it's interface.

This is what my Feed Demon looks like at the moment. A definate insight into my soul....

I check so many different blogs, mostly for inspiration so this has proved very helpful. I would definately recommend it.

But with certain sites, it's better to check them within a web browser so you get all the suggested posts.

What blogs do you check?

Beginnings.

I'm slightly overwhelmed by this whole 'blogging' thing.

The Internet is so diluted with blogs. I want to be one of the better ones.

:)
