Trend: Light Patterns.

Another trend I've noticed, courtesy of my Inspiration Folder.

Beautifully filtered light, through objects such as lace, clothing, furniture and blinds.

Lovely subtle way of adding another dimension to a photo.

I love the varied use of this technique; both to soften or harden, boldly and delicately.
I simply adore Anne Menke's ladylike use of lace and Ida Bjorvik's strong vertical lines.

I'm in love with this trend!

Trend: Golden.

The sun is finally showing it's face, and I'm loving it.

It inspired me to do this post; some lovely golden photographs, that make you just wanna frolic in a field with the daisies.

Also a trend that's been around for a while, noticed from my Inspiration Folder.

Love this trend, can't see it going out of style for a while. It's so simple so it can always be updated.

I'm going to go play in the sun now!

Inspiration.

I've mentioned my Inspiration Folder a few times now, and I thought I'd expand on it a bit more.

It all started when Alastair Strong came into my university and to talk about his work.

Alastair Strong

He gave us a little insight and exaplantion of his Inspiration Folder, encouraging us to start our own.

I started mine immediately and have found it to be a massive help in so many ways ever since.

It's basically a folder on the desktop of my laptop where I save any photographs/artwork/graphics I love.

I name each image with the artists name, or any information I have. I also divide the images up in year folders, which is a great way to detect trends. Organisation is your friend.

So whenever I need some inspiration, to find a image to reference or to collect images for my next blog post, I head to my Inspiration Folder.

If you haven't already got one, start one right now.

And save anything and everything! Even if you're not sure about it. Your tastes may change and that image you once hated, you may end up loving.

As you know, I have an RSS Reader which is where I save most of the images from. I encourage you to get one of these too. So useful!

Hope my advice helps. There's nothing worse than being stuck for inspirarion.
