Cats (And A Dog), Part 5.

Thought I'd mix it up a bit. Include a dog for once. Show some variety.

So for this editions of 'Cats', we have...

Wilfi, looking rather sad.

Wilfi being grumpy because Barney's in her haven.

Tilly and Jamie playing with a stick in the sun.

Tilly, looking for something to chase, with snot on her nose.

And that's all for this edition of 'Cats'.

Stay tuned for the next post. I'm getting quite good at photographing cats.

I truely am a cat lady...

Teenage Dream.

Another OPI Katy Perry nail varnish. Now I've posted all the colours.

I love this colour; it's so girly and glittery.

Wilfi approves.

Barney.

Recent photographs of Barney.

This is basically how he spend his life - trying to seduce you into giving him a belly rub.

Love his little face. So cute. :)

Perry Live, Part 2.

Sorry it's taken so long to post Part 2 of my Katy Perry post. I've been without the Internet for a week. It's been a very dark time...

But I'm back! :D

I used another one of my Katy Perry nail varnishes over the weekend - The One That Got Away.

Definately my favourite so far. It's such a lovely rich pink/ruby colour. So beautiful I didn't want to taint it by using the Black Shatter over the top.

So complete our look for the gig, me and my partner in crime Gatty wore cat ears - Katy Perry calls her fans her Katy Kats.

Gatty went one step further and sported a blue wig, a la...

Surprisingly, this got us a lot of attention. We were expecting everyone to be dressed up, which they were not.

We were photographed by Capital FM...

And by James Mollison for his Disciples series. Photo-montages that show 'different tribes of people that attended concerts, and how people emulated celebrity to form their identity.'

Madonna fans by James Mollison

I was so excited to be a part of this, as I studied this series while I was at university. And would you believe I was telling Gatty about it on the way to the gig.

I am very proud to call myself a Disciple of Katy Perry. :D

I will post the photograph when it's put up.

Perry Live, Part 1.

Remember ages ago when I did a post about Katy Perry?

Emma Summerton

At the end of the post I mentioned I was going to see her live. Well that day finally arrived yesterday!

I've got so much to blog about concerning my day, that I'm going to break it up.

Firstly, there's her nail varnish. Being the dedicated fan I am, I obviously ordered her nail varnish in preparation for the gig.

Katy has five colours, created in partnership with OPI. Four are named after songs from her second album - (l-r) Teenage Dream, Not Like The Movies, Last Friday Night and The One That Got Away. The last colour is a top coat called Black Shatter.

I alternated between using Not Like the Movies (top right side) and Last Friday Night (top left side).

They didn't come out as strong as the bottles suggest, but lovely colours none the less. I'm going to experiment with using them as top coats as well.

I then added a coat of Black Shatter over the top.

This top coat is amazing. If you haven't seen it in action, I insist you do so now!

The results the Black Shatter give vary so dramatically depending on how much you use, and the way you use the brush.

As you can see from my two index fingers, very different results.

My friend Gatty used Teenage Dream, with Black Shatter over the top.

I'm looking forwards to wasting many hours playing with these lovely colours.

More Katy Perry posts to follow!

Lydia in Five.

I'm embracing the more friendly look of my blog by adding a personal post.

So here's me in five things... (all photos taken by me, just for you lovely people.)

1. Jewellery

I love jewellery. And being a very tidy organised and tidy person, it's no surprise that I love my jewellery box.

2. Diary

I keep a diary, and I have done so for almost eight years. I write in it every day, without fail.

3. Camera

Kind of goes without saying, really....

4. Teddy

Loved Teddy since I was born. Still love her now. Slightly embarassing? Maybe. Do I care? No. :)

5. Cat

She's old. She's grumpy. And enjoys peeing on my clothes. But I can't help it, I love her to bits.

Thought this was a nice way to start a new era for my blog.

Maybe I'll make this a regular thing...

Changing.

Notice anything different about me?

I hope you have. I changed blog platforms.

Goodbye Wordpress. Hello Blogger.

Wordpress is an excellent platform, as long as you know how to use. Which I do not...

So after much umming and erring, I bit the bullet and changed.

I'm loving it so far. I actually understand Blogger!

Blogger feels so much more friendly and personal.

I hope you like it too. :)

Cats, Part 2.

After my last post, I thought I'd introduce you to my cats (technically my boyfriends, but I love them as my own).

I'm always taking photos of them, because they're always being so darn cute.

Barney, only affectionate when he wants something from you.

Wilfi, old and missing most her teeth.

They don't get along, so this is a rare occurrence.

Wilfi likes to sit at the window and guard the house.

Don't worry, you'll see more of them. They're too cute to not blog about.

Lord Mayor's Show 2010.

Going to the Lord Mayor's Show is something my family's done ever since I was a baby.

I went with my mum and boyfriend, and my brother was in the parade.

We took up our usual spot outisde Mansion House - a prime spot as it's where the afternoon prosession finishes.

Naturally, I took loads of photos. Documentary photography isn't really my forte, but I took a stab at it.

Here's my best from the day...

Let me know what you think! :P

Beginnings.

I'm slightly overwhelmed by this whole 'blogging' thing.

The Internet is so diluted with blogs. I want to be one of the better ones.

:)
